The European coastline has some of the most fascinating beaches in the whole world. These beaches are famous for their glistening sand, deep blue waters, and hordes of recreational activities which can be experienced by one and all. Myrtos in Greece, Cannes in France and Forte dei Marmi in Italy are some of the best beaches in Europe.

Biarritz, France
Biarritz beach, on the Atlantic coast in France, is popular among the tourists and surfers from all over the world. A part of the Biarritz beach, the La Grande Plage, has separately demarcated swimming and surfing areas. Regarded as one of the best beach in the world, it also plays host to the Biarritz Surf Festival, a week-long event featuring surfing and music. This festival brings many famous surfers to this shore. Being small, the beach tends to get overcrowded when thousands of tourists flock here in summer, but just being a part of the happening crowd is a delight in itself.

Myrtos Beach, Kefalonia, Greece
Myrtos beach is considered as one of the most beautiful of the European beaches. It is located near Argostoli, the capital of island of Kefalonia. Myrtos beach has made a place for itself in the list of best beaches in this part of the world due to its serene beauty. Its fine golden sand and greenish blue water attracts thousands of tourists to it every summer. The beach is surrounded by gigantic rocky cliffs which have to be descended to get on to the beach. Though before descending, don't forget to enjoy the view of the beach from the top. The beautiful picture of white strip of sand and greenish blue water is not worth giving a miss.

Cannes, France
Cannes, renowned for hosting the International Film Festival, is also famous for having the best beaches in world. La Croisette, a 12-km stretch of white sand is the most sought after hot spot among the tourists visiting this country. The free public beaches at Cannes, with a lot of recreational activities are very popular among the vacationers. And if you are seeking some well-deserved rest, and are in the position to shell out some money, you can opt for one of the few calm and isolated private beaches.

Tarifa, Spain
Tarifa beach in Spain is an enchanting setting, wherein the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. The 10-km stretch of the white sandy beach is a delight for surfers and birdwatchers. This beach has ideal conditions for sports activities like windsurfing. If you are a nature lover, you can experience the thrill of whale or dolphin watching. And if you just want to spend some time away from your routine life, then a walk on the white sands would be an ideal option. From the beach you can also feast your eyes on the spectacular view of the Rif Mountains in Morocco.

Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany, Italy
Forte dei Marmi beach is situated between the Marinas of Ronci and Pietrasanta, in the Versilia area of Tuscany region of Italy. Forte dei Marmi is famous for its clean, sandy stretch. The tourists flocking this beach also tend to get fascinated by its sea front resorts and hotels. This area also has some private beaches to stay at if you are ready to shell out those extra bucks. Another major attraction in Forte dei Marmi is its weekly 'Wednesday' market, wherein designer clothes are among the many other things which are sold at inexpensive rates.

Playa de la Concha, San Sebastian, Spain
The Playa de la Concha is one of the most marvelous beach in the San Sebastian city of Spain. This 1,350 m long and 40 m wide beach is located to the west of the Urumea river. It is an urban beach, quite famous around the world, and thus very populated throughout the summer. Its fine sand and clean sea makes it one of the most beautiful beach, not just in Spain but in the entire of Europe as well.

These European beaches have successfully made a place for themselves on the world travel map. In fact, it is very much unlikely that you will come across an advertisement of beach vacations in Europe without a mention of these names. They have to be visited at least once in a lifetime to experience the nature at its best.
