When was the Gateway Arch Built?
The Gateway Arch was built in 1965 by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen. His design was chosen after a nationwide competition, held between 1947-1948 to design a monument honoring the iconic image of the city of St. Louis, Missouri.
