Dont whine if your plans go awry or something goes wrong. The other person youre traveling with is most likely experiencing the same things you are. Sure there are times when you should complain. If so, complain and move on. Travel is a positive experience; dont focus on the negative.

Avoid incessant chatter. Its one thing to point out things that your travel companion may not see, or to inquire if she is all right or needs something, but its another to discuss your personal life, work problems, or boyfriendnonstop.

Be considerate. If you notice that your travel companion needs assistance, lend a hand. He will be grateful and will most likely be available to you should you ever need help.

Dont be cheap or rude. Resist helping yourself to whatever your travel companion is drinking or eating. If you want to try something new, buy it yourself. Its one thing if your travel companion offers you a sample of what shes eating, another for you tear off a piece of her Pizza Margherita and wolf it down without asking.

Give your travel companion some privacy. No one likes to be smothered. Allow your travel companion time away from you to take care of personal phone calls, attend to correspondence, do some shopping in private or take a nap.

Be open-minded. If your companion suggests a new food or experience, dont refuse unless you have a good reason to do so, such as an allergy or deep-seated fear. You never know; this new experience might open up a whole new world.
