Florence is a bustling tourist city and therefore a transportation Mecca. Trains leave from Florence to Pisa multiple times an hour. Because your trip from Florence (Firenze) to Pisa is relatively short, about an hour, settle in and enjoy the ride.

Instructions

Plan Your Trip to Pisa

    1

Buy treasures at the antique market, one of the largest in Italy, on the first Sunday of each month.

    2

Spend some time in Pisa in May and see the Flower Festival at Le Piagge.

    3

Plan to be in Pisa in June. During a street festival on June 16th called Luminara, the entire city is lit by candlelight while parties and fireworks abound throughout the city.

    4

Enjoy June 17th, San Ranieri Day - the Patron Saint Day - when you can see a parade in historical costumes.

    5

Experience the last Sunday of June, Gioco del Ponte, the game of the bridge, at Ponte di Mezzo. In this display of strength several teams of strong men use their necks to push a heavy cart.

    6

Book your travel to visit Pisa in December, for on Sundays there is a Christmas market in the city center.
