How to Donate a Travel Trailer

Getting rid of a used travel trailer typically costs a fee, especially if it doesn't run. Donating the travel trailer instead can save you money, and you'll know it's helping someone. Choose a charity that you want to support. Many charities will take travel trailers even if they don't work, and it will be picked up from your home at a convenient time. You will receive a receipt for tax deduction purposes, and in some cases a cash stipend, depending on the quality of the vehicle.

Call Action Donation Services at 866-244-8464 to donate your travel trailer. They donate to many different charities, and they'll ask you to select a charity. Answer a few questions about the age and condition of the travel trailer, and ADS will give you an estimate of its worth and set up a time for a representative to pick it up from your home. You can also complete an online form (see Resources).

Donate your travel trailer to Car Angel by calling 800-227-2643. They'll ask about the make, model, year and fuel type of your travel trailer, then set up a time to pick it up from your house. You can also complete a form online (see Resources).

Call 800-515-6789 to donate even a junk travel trailer to the Outreach Center. They donate to education and will pick up the vehicle from your house and drop off any forms required to help you get the full tax refund. You can also submit information about your travel trailer online (see Resources).

Ask for your tax deduction receipt when someone picks up the travel trailer from your home.
