How to Make a Travel Journal

A travel journal is a diary commemorating your travels. It can be a simple narrative journal composed of descriptions and verbal pictures, or it can be more detailed and include photos and mementos from your vacation. In either case, the goal of a travel journal is to detail your vacation experiences from each destination so that the memories can last a lifetime and be shared with family and friends.

Instructions

    1

Buy a beautiful travel journal. Whether you select a simple leather-bound book, or a more complex organizer, purchase the type of journal you will want to keep for years to come. Select a journal that will meet your needs, whether wide ruled for easier writing, or whether it has pockets for mementos, receipts, and photos.

    2

Take your journal along on your travels, and write a detailed summary of your adventures every opportunity you can. The more often you write, the less likely it is that you will forget important details of your trip. Write often and use lots of detail so your trip is accurately summarized.

    3

Photograph your trip so you will have photos to add to the journal when you return home. Save receipts, menus, and other unique mementos from your trip so you can add them into your journal. Paste mementos to the pages of your journal, or slide them into special pockets in the journal, so you can save them safely for future review and reference.
