How to Pack Neckties

Any frequent business or leisure traveler whose wardrobe requires the use of a necktie needs to know how to pack this valuable accessory. Quality neckties are an important investment, so you want to make sure you care for them in the appropriate manner, whether packing for a trip or wearing them day to day. Plus, if you know the proper procedure for packing your neckties, you have one less thing to worry about during the course of your trip.

Instructions

    1

Purchase travel cases for your neckties. Travel cases are compact cylinders that allow you to roll your ties and store them safely in your suitcase. Travel cases, available at department stores and online, will provide the best method for transporting neckties in luggage.

    2

Align the pointed tips at the bottom of the necktie. Roll the tie beginning with the narrow end. Once you have finished and the tie is in a compact roll, store it in a clean sock or a travel case.

    3

Fold tie in half, then fold in half again. Place in suit jacket pocket and pack in luggage. This method is ideal for an item being stored loosely in a garment bag.
