How to Travel Across Country on $100

Traveling across the country on a mere $100 seems almost impossible, but it can be done. It will not only be incredibly physically draining but it will be mentally draining as well. You must be certain to be in the best physical shape you can possible get yourself into since you will need all the help you can get. Here's how to begin.

Instructions

    1

You must have a good speed bicycle. Be sure that it is comfortable for you to sit on for many hours and check it for any needed repairs.

    2

Develop a rack that will carry some clothes and water. Be sure to pack light. Find out what the prediction of whether is going to be for the next week in order to bring the right kind of clothes with you.

    3

Map out your trip. Decide where you are going to start your trip across the country and where you are going to end it. If you have friends in some of the states you are traveling to then contact them to see if you can stay the night when you arrive in their town.

    4

Coordinate meals and accomodations. Arrive in time for dinner with friends that you have in different states. Maybe you can stay for breakfast depending on how good of friends they are.

    5

Donations and sponsorship. Contact hotels and restaurants and tell them your plan to travel across the country on a bicycle and that you only have $100. Offer them free advertisements if they will donate a meal or one night's stay. You will be surprised how many will say yes to this. You may have to sign an agreement with the companies, but that is OK as long as it makes your trip across the country that much easier and cheaper. Most companies will offer donations which will take care of any extra costs that may come about.
