Astral projection is an out-of-body experience in which your soul leaves your physical body and moves to the astral plane. In this state, your consciousness can travel and see things without your physical body. Many believers say people travel with astral projection when they sleep. Experts also claim it is possible to travel with astral projection when you are awake if you are able to master the technique.

Instructions

    1

Relax your body. Find a comfortable place to sit or lie, relax all your muscles and breathe deeply, holding each breathe in as long as you comfortably can.

    2

Start to fall asleep, but catch yourself just before you do. You want to enter the state you are in just before you go to sleep at night. If you have trouble, lie on a bed with your forearm up in the air. As you start to fall asleep your arm will fall and this will wake you.

    3

Clear your mind. It may help to be in a dark, quiet place with no external stimulation. The only stimulation you should feel in this state is stimulation from your thoughts.

    4

Feel a state of vibration. This is the stage that will require practice. Vibration is the start of projection and will feel like a tingling in your body. You will know it when you feel it.

    5

Gain control over the vibrations with your mind. Practice moving the vibrations from one part of your body to another. When you have gained control, you are ready to enter the astral plane.

    6

Start by only partially separating from your body at first. Do not let your mind stray from the thought of leaving your body. Release a leg or arm from your body and then pull it back in. Practice getting to this state several times and stop before continuing. Then, you will be ready for full separation.

    7

Completely leave your body when you feel ready and not scared. Think about your body getting lighter. Envision how pleasant floating upward would feel. Do not let your mind wander from these thoughts.
