Who wouldnt love to travel the world and get paid in the process? That seems to be a dream of many people. They love traveling, but they just cant afford to travel as much as theyd like. Believe it or not, you can actually spend as much time as youd like traveling around the world or even in your own state and make money doing it. You dont have to invest in anything, you just need to love traveling.

Instructions

Photography

    1

Consult with galleries in your neighborhood and the nearest big cities about possibly selling your photographs. Youll need to take along a portfolio and show them some samples of your work, but those can be any pictures youve taken in the past.

    2

Register at websites like Photo Stock Plus and Constant Content. You can set up your own account, upload your images and set your own prices for your photographs. Youll be notified by email when your pictures sell.

    3

Purchase travel magazines and magazines that feature travel stories. Email the editors, photography assistants and anyone else listed in the magazine with a resume, cover letter and sample of your work. If they need photographers and are happy with your work, you could pick up several jobs while traveling.

    4

Send a query letter and sample of your photography to your local newspaper and other newspapers in your state or general area. Detail where youre going and what youll be doing and ask if theyd be interested in some of your photographs. You may find that they love the idea of using a local photographer.

Travel Jobs

    5

Visit the Cruise Ship Jobs website and search for open positions. Youll need to pay a small fee to fill out the electronic application and upload your resume, but they have thousands of satisfied customers. You can search through posted jobs and automatically apply. This is the perfect way to see the world and get paid while you do it.

    6

Teach English as a second language. There are several countries that are in desperate need of English-speaking people, with a large number of teaching positions available in Asia, in particular. In most cases, you can make enough money to live in the same city you teach and save some money for your next travel destination.

    7

Check out the AV Jobs website to find a job as a flight attendant. Flight attendants get to see the world and get paid to do it. You can expect to have several layovers in cities around the world and even if you only get to visit the city for a few hours, its more than youd see at home. Most airlines have pretty strict requirements including age, training and education. You can see the exact requirements listed when you click on a job to find more information.

Writing

    8

Find websites like Review Stream that pay for short reviews. Think of how many different things you can write about in one day of traveling--the people, restaurants, food, attractions and even your hotel. You can make enough in one week to pay for your next trip.

    9

Write about your experiences on a blog or a website that pays money for articles. Today.com is a startup company that pays members to post on blogs of their choice. You get to set up your own blog and then get paid a set amount every time you post a new blog. First you need to have your idea approved, but then you start getting paid.

    10

Use advertising and affiliate programs to earn even more money from your blog. Clickbank and Amazon both have affiliate programs. They place banner ads on your blog, and you earn money every time someone makes a purchase from your site. Google has the largest advertising program, which places a similar ad on your page. Youll earn income when people click on the links on your page.

    11

Get an agent as soon as possible. Guide to Literary Agents is an invaluable resource because it lists all book agents in the world. Send a query letter to every agent you can find, and see if you hear back from anyone. Give them an idea of your book and even send a sample chapter or outline. A good agent can do all the hard work for you and possibly even get you a book deal.

    12

Create a basic outline for a book and start shopping it around months before you plan to travel. There are a number of different companies that publish travel guides and even more that publish books with a good idea. If you have a unique hook or an idea that other people would want to read, you may be able to find a publisher and even get an advance. Send the publisher a cover letter, a sample chapter and an outline for your book idea. You might get many copies returned because they dont accept unsolicited material, but it only takes one interested publisher to land you a book deal. Writer's Market contains all the information you need.
