How to Use a 1GB Memorex Travel Flash Drive

Small and portable, flash drives are a handy way to store and share files between systems. The Memorex Travel Flash Drive, like most flash drives, uses USB as its connection. It has the ability to store any type of files. With a storage space of 1GB, this flash drive can hold 250 songs or 125 pictures, depending on the size of the files. Memorex has made using their Travel Flash Drive easy and convenient.

Instructions

    1

Uncap the USB end of the flash drive and place it on the opposite end (over the blue LED) for convenient storage.

    2

Insert the flash drive into your USB port. The Memorex Travel Flash Drive uses USB 2.0 but also works with USB 1.1 systems. The blue LED at the end of the flash drive will light up and flicker to indicate power.

    3

Wait for your computer system to recognize the new hardware and install the drivers for the flash drive. The flash drive works on both Mac and Windows systems. This only takes a few minutes to complete.

    4

Click on "My Computer" in Windows or "Finder" in Mac systems to see the drive. It will appear as an additional lettered drive. You may open and use this drive just as you do the other drives on your system. File management abilities include copy, paste and delete. With the preset file program on the Memorex Travel Flash Drive, you can even transfer files between a Mac and a Windows computer.

    5

Disconnect the drive in Windows by double-clicking on "Safely Remove Hardware" in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. Choose the USB device or letter of your flash drive and then click "Stop." The light on the drive will turn off, and your drive is safe to remove.

    6

Disconnect the drive in Mac by right-clicking on the drive icon on your desktop and selecting "Eject." The light will turn off, and you can safely remove the flash drive.
