If you work for a travel agency or are starting one yourself, you can create a beautiful travel brochure on your computer. You can either print out the brochure yourself or take it to a printer and get numerous copies made. There are just a few things you should know when creating your brochure so that you can make it competitive with the best out there.

Instructions

    1

Decide on the layout of your brochure. Will it be a half-fold or a tri-fold? Tri-folds are the most popular and easiest to use. Once you decide, begin by opening a program on your computer such as Microsoft Word's Task Launcher. Click on "Newsletters and Fliers" and then choose "Brochure." Locate the style you want and then click "Use this style."

    2

Gather facts about Greece. If your agency doesn't maintain a file on the country and you don't have firsthand knowledge, do plenty of research--either online, in the library, or both. Find out what the main attractions are, where the must see-sites are located, what accommodations are available, and what foods visitors can expect to find. Explore the history of Greece and the culture of its people. You won't necessarily use all of these facts in your brochure, but it helps to have all of the information you need in front of you as you create the brochure you think your customers will appreciate.

    3

Get photographs of Greece. You cannot make a travel brochure without adding plenty of great photos of the destination. If you do not have any images of Greece, you can get some at Stockxpert. This site has thousands of photographs that you are free to use for your own purposes. There are some great shots, including historical sites, buildings and foods.

    4

Work on your front cover first. It should have more pictures (or one big one) and less text. The front-cover blurb should be written in a way that will make travelers want to open it and learn more about Greece. Be creative and move your pictures and words around until you find a style that works. You may have to play with it a little until you get everything where you want it.

    5

Work on the interior of the brochure. Stick to a normal-size font (12 is standard) and try to avoid writing in all capital letters, which is unnecessary to make your points. Feel free to use bullets, but don't number anything. It looks tacky. Make your headlines bold and in a different color then the rest of your text. Use pictures, but make sure you get in enough information on Greece that readers can picture being there from the text alone.

    6

Add your company information on the back page of the brochure. Render it legibly and sensibly, so that any would-be traveler can find you and plan a trip. This is especially important, as the person who takes the brochure may pass it on to someone else who has never heard of your company. That's free advertising.

    7

Save and print your brochure. If you don't want to print it yourself, you can take it to your local printer and pay him to print your desired number of brochures. You can always have more printed out later when you are running low. Plus, you can update the brochure if you need to.
