You know, Benjamin Franklin once said, that "god made beer because he loves us and wants us to be happy". In the same manner, looking at all the beaches in South Carolina, we can say that "Mother Earth loves us, and that's why she made the beaches of South Carolina, as she wants us to surf, eat, relax and be happy".

South Carolina was the 8th State to join the United States of America, with its capital being Columbia city. It is located in the South Eastern quadrant, on the map of the United States and has a magnificent shoreline, with beaches that are washed up by the cool waters of the Atlantic ocean. The location and the beauty of south Carolina are aided by a very inviting, humid subtropical climate. These have made the state of South Carolina, a very popular tourist destination. The geographical and natural beauty of this state, are no doubt responsible for the inflow of domestic and international tourists, however, the maximum rush of tourists is seen on the sandy beaches of South Carolina. Another very significant characteristic of these beaches, is the natural formation of bays. The waves from the Atlantic and the location of the South Carolina on the peninsula of North America, have resulted in miniature bays, that have the various beaches located within them.

Moving on to some prominent beaches, let us take a look at Myrtle beach. A resort city, located in the Horry county of South Carolina, the city of Myrtle beach is actually a group of coastal towns, villages and two resort complexes by the names of Myrtle beach metropolitan area and the Grand Strand. This city hosts about 14.6 million visitors annually, and the basic attractions are not only the amazing beaches, but also the various golf courses, water parks, restaurants and most important of all, the surfing opportunities that are provided by mother nature at the shoreline. The advantage of surfing on the shore line of Myrtle beach is, that the waves have a medium range and a swell that is between 3 to 8 feet. These swell provides very good surfing conditions, that are challenging but safe.

Another very good beach that you can go to, is the Folly beach, which is located in Charleston county, South Carolina. The beach has an excellent swell strength wave height, making it an ideal place to surf, the best among all the South Carolina beaches. If you are visiting Folly beach, then the historical Folly island is also worth a visit.

If you are looking for some peace of mind, then I would recommend the Hilton Head Island. The Hilton Head Island is a town, that is situated on the small island that bears the same name and is a part of the Beaufort County. This island has some excellent beaches and they have amazing natural treasures, that have been preserved by the local people. The three most prominent creatures that you will find on these beaches are the loggerhead sea turtle, snowy egret and further into the water, the bottlenose dolphins. Apart from that, you can also have a look at the many historical sites on this island or go fishing or boating in the calm waters.

The beaches of South Carolina are certainly inviting and welcoming, as they tend to take you away, mentally and physically, from the mad rush of your daily lives.
