How to Make a Travel Brochure for Kids

Travel brochures for kids can help teach young people about different places in the world. They can also entertain children when their parents are arranging travel plans with a travel agent. When creating a travel brochure for kids it is helpful to include a few specific components.

Instructions

    1

Open a new Microsoft Word document. At the top of the screen, click on the word "File," then select "New." Next, format your page by clicking "Format" at the top of the screen. For a typical travel brochure layout, chose the selection called "Columns." You can chose to separate the document into as many columns as you want. To create a trifold brochure, select 3 columns.

    2

Type the text into the brochure. The text will automatically follow the column layout you have selected. Include features that children would enjoy, such as word finds, crossword puzzles or interesting fun facts about different travel destinations. Use simple language that will both hold the attention of children and that they can easily understand.

    3

Paste stock photographs into the travel brochure. Many websites online offer royalty free use of their stock photographs. Select pictures that are vivid and colorful, showing exciting scenery that children would enjoy. Amusement parks, zoos, windmills and themed restaurants are all very good choices. To paste them into your document, right click on the image and select "Save Image." Then, name and save your image to a folder on your computer. Inside your document, click on the word "Insert" at the top of the screen. Next, select "Picture" and then "From File." A window will open that will allow you to search and select the image that you saved and will insert the image once you click on it.

    4

Save your document. Click on "File" and then "Save As." A window will appear that will allow you to name the document and to select the file type. Chose a name that you will remember, and select the file type "DOC."

    5

Print your document on a color printer. Use a gloss-finish paper, which you can find at any office supply store. To print, click on "File" and then "Print." A window will appear that will allow you to select how many copies you would like to print. Once you have selected the number that you require, click "OK" and the documents will begin printing.
