When you travel you don't want to lug around excess belongings. Less is more, especially when traveling on an airplane or bike. When you are traveling during your menstruation cycle, the need for feminine hygiene necessities don't simply vanish. It is wise to create a small, compact kit for traveling that includes the basics necessities and a few emergency items. Consider creating a spare kit to keep around the house for an urgent situation or if you are ever lucky enough to be whisked away on a surprise vacation.

- 1
Find a small bag or container to keep your feminine hygiene products in. A cloth bag that is large enough to fit necessities but can be folded down in size if there is excess room is a good choice. Ziploc-type bags can also be used.
2Decide what to pack. Every woman is different in their feminine hygiene rituals. Different women also have varying lengths and intensity of their periods. Base what you need, and how much you need, on how your individual body works and your preferences, with a few spare items in case of an emergency.
3Include tampons or pads or a variety of both. You may usually wear pads but if you are going to be swimming on your trip you should pack tampons. You can find travel sizes of pads or tampons but it might be best to consider how many you will need (including extras) and pack them in your feminine hygiene kit bag to save space from the packaging. Pads with wings are a good choice because you may be sitting and squirming for a while in a car without the chance to change in the rest room. Wings help keep pads in place and prevent leaks.
4Include feminine hygiene wipes, or even just baby wipes. When you are traveling you never know if you will be away from a shower or there will be no toilet paper in a rest stop. Even if you don't usually use hygiene wipes you might need them while traveling. Wipes come in travel size.
5Throw in some extras. Consider a spare pair or two of underwear. Keep them in your kit for emergency purposes. Add a painkiller for PMS symptoms in your kit. If your skin gets oily or breaks out during your menstruation cycle you may want to include oil-blotting tissue or acne spot treatment in your kit. If you are prone to yeast infections, include a yeast infection treatment.
