How to Wallpaper a Travel Trailer

Applying wallpaper to a travel trailer is a great way to make it feel like home. It's an ideal customization that creates a space that gives your friends and family a glimpse of your own personal style. Wallpapering in a travel trailer is very similar to wallpapering inside your home. If the current wall covering is in good condition, new wallpaper can be easily applied on top. It is a relatively inexpensive means of transforming your space that even a novice do-it-yourselfer can achieve.

Instructions

    1

Turn off electricity. Remove all plates around light switches and outlets with a screwdriver.

    2

Remove the old wall covering if necessary. Sand away leftover adhesive to create a smooth surface. Disregard this step if old wall covering is in good condition.

    3

Prepare the walls of your travel trailer. Wash the walls with soapy water. Use bleach to scrub away any mold.

    4

Measure the walls of the trailer to determine how much wallpaper is needed. Purchase wallpaper accordingly.

    5

Mix up wallpaper adhesive, unless you're using self-sticking wallpaper. Follow the adhesive mixing instructions, and apply to the back of the wallpaper right before hanging.

    6

Hang wallpaper starting at the top of the travel trailer wall. Use a ladder if necessary. Work out any wrinkles by pulling firmly on the wallpaper and smoothing it with your hand or smoothing brush. Press paper firmly against the wall.

    7

Hang additional pieces of wallpaper inside your travel trailer until it is fully covered. Match up patterns for a cohesive look. For edges around doors and windows, drape the wallpaper over the opening and cut along the edge using a razor.

    8

Attach wall plates to outlets and light switches with a screwdriver.
