Kashid Beach - Its Beauty Has No Ends
Enlarge Image Title of this article seems strange, isn't it? But this was my first expression when I saw the view at Kashid Beach. The blue skies and water stretching far beyond the limits of our (Abhijit, Shashank, Sagar and Me) eyes made me say it. The reason behind writing this article is to express the excitement which kept all four of us energetic and on the go, before start of the journey to 'Murud-Janjira fort and Kashid Beach' and afterwards.
The statement which can describe us when we were on the way to Murud can be, "4 Energetic enthusiasts wishing to explore the beautiful world". We all knew that we have only 18 hrs in our hands and that included 12 hrs of journey by road. But, we concentrated our minds on the 6 precious hrs of pure joy, which were ours to claim and make a perfect mark to be kept as a memory forever. Though, all the memories are kept forever, I believe something like this outing can only be created intentionally and sacrificing comfort.
This trip to Murud-Janjira and Kashid Beach was planned while we were on our trip to Dajipur Forest Reserve and the planning for the next venture has already begun and is in the process of finalizing the dates. I hope, it will be as exciting as the previous ones. I collected information on Kashid Beach Resorts, Shashank took responsibility of the cab, Abhijit decided the route to travel and Sagar was busy making list of things to carry in the journey and he also made a list of Best Kashid Beach Hotels for Seafood. We don't care about the hardships of routes or the type of transport we will be taking, because we believe real adventure starts there only. It feels good when you want to do something, and people close to you also wish the same and everything pans out right in terms of finances and available time, dates and head count.
Our journey started from Pune to Murud-Janjira Fort in the morning 5.30 am, as we had planned, with No Delays and No Late Comers to Curse At. We arrived at Murud at 11.30 am and within no time, we were on the way to fort located 1.5 km offshore. We boarded on a boat (the only way) to get to the fort. While were getting the background information about, "Who constructed the Janjira fort and the reason behind its construction?", from the boatman, we arrived at the fort and hired a guide to get more detailed information about it.
It was a great experience to stand on the Janjira and look at the water surging all around and trying to swamp it and with wind pushing us backwards. It is wonder, that after 900 years of its construction the fort is still standing with no apparent damages from onslaught and heavy pressure of waves. The guide told us that in storms the waves become more dangerous and scales half the height of the fort walls. For the purpose of safety, visitors are not allowed to visit the fort for 4 months of monsoon. After 1hr of sightseeing, we left for lunch as we were too hungry at stomach but contented at heart.
We decided to go to Kashid beach right after our lunch and have some fun. We arrived at Kashid beach around 3.45 - 4.00 pm. We had lot of fun before leaving the place at 6.30pm after watching the sunset. We were not just the tourists who wanted to see the place before dying but wanted to add these two place in our list of heavenly places visited in life. Finally, I thank God for creating such wonderful places, maybe he wanted us, once in a while, to have the feel of the heaven. After clicking lots of pics we left the place and moved towards the MTDC resort to look for accommodation. As it was a week end all the resorts and hotels were full.
This was our experience and how good we felt about it. The important thing which I really wanted to share with all of you is, keeping our country clean is our responsibility. On beach, I saw lot of plastic and glass bottles littering the place and in many places sharp pieces of broken glass bottles ( no need to explain the contents of these bottles) lay in wait on the beach to cut open the naked feet of a stroller.
Now that I have aired my concern about the condition of this beautiful beach and destructive behavior of certain people, I think you, as a responsible citizen, will take care on your next outing to beaches or any other places as we did on our last two. Why? So that our grandchildren don't miss the beauty of the place we are going to hand over to them.
Now, we are ready and next will be added soon... Expecting your comments on my first ever article.
"Don't behave like everyone does and maybe one day they will follow you."
